Can gourmet mushrooms cause severe gastrointestinal reactions?
I added Alba Clamshell, Trumpet Royale & Forest Namedo mushrooms to a salad and within 30 minutes had severe gastrointestinal pain that lasted for over 4 hours. I slept but in the morning I still had residual heartburn, strange headache and flushing of face & neck with a hive itch feeling.
Could this be an allergic reaction?
Are you sure about the safety of the mushrooms you added? The reason I ask is that part of your symptoms don’t match with food allergy. For example the gastro pain is not a typical symptom but red/flushed skin or hives is. Headache is not an allergy symptom but itching is.
Your reaction could be the result of a food intolerance which is medically different from a food allergy. Either way, you have to avoid the offending food.
Any suggestions for an acid reflux diet please!?

Natural Treatment For Heartburn/Acid Reflux?
Does anyone know a natural cure/ treatment for heartburn/acid reflux? It’s so bad it feels like my chest is going to explode. The doctor recommended Prilosec, which works beautifully but raises my blood pressure to dangerous levels(240+/220+). Zantac also works but causes a discharge to come out of my left nipple. Any recommendations?
Anything thats alkaline in nature. For mild heartburn milk is a quick and easy way to get rid of it. As already suggested, baking soda is also good. Since yours is so bad I would suggest seeing a nutritionist, or taking a thorough look through your diet. You might be better off trying to reduce some of the acidic foods you are eating, rather than purely trying to treat the results
