Anyone know the feeling?

Until recenlty, I was pretty healthy. I was able to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Now, it is a diffrent story. I was just told, I have GERD/Acid Reflux. I am on protonix, which I take everyday. I experience some nausea and indigestion from the reflux. Does anyone take anything to help with the nausea. I have tried toms.. Does not do the trick. Just causes gas. Sorry! Can anyone tell what the difference is between protonix, nexium or prevacid. Which one is the best?

I was taking Tums and they did not work at all, it was like eating chalky candy. Then, my Dr put me on Protonix… I loved it… At first I thought it wouldn’t work, but I gave it a couple weeks and I felt sooooooooo much better. You have to realize, it takes a while for the esophagus to actually heal from all the acid erosion. I had acid reflux to the point where if I actually pushed on my sternum, my chest would hurt and it was giving me really bad asthma. I know it bothers you a lot, but if you just wait it out a few more days it will do the trick. Maybe try cutting out some foods that aggravate the reflux for a while. I switched from 1% milk to soy milk; had to stop eating anything tomato based, containing caffeine, or spicy for a couple weeks, but after the Protonix started working I could go back to my regular diet (just not over-do the bad foods) and just take a Pepcid AC everytime I felt the reflux coming on. I wouldn’t try the Pepcid while I’m on the Protonix though. Maybe try something that coats the stomach, like Maalox or Kaopectate. I would check with my Dr 1st though to make sure it will not conflict with the Protonix.
